On September 19, 1783, the inventors of the hot air balloon, the Montgolfier Brothers , flew their hot air balloon , the “Aérostat Réveillon “ before King Louis XVI and queen Marie-Antoinette for a presentation at the Château de Versailles . The flight lasted about 8 minutes and reached approximately 1,500 feet.
On board passengers included , a duck, a sheep and a rooster .
